Most
of the British battleships during the WW2 were actually designed by Irishmen and Belgians who were working under contract.

Just a note that the German battlewagons you depicted were built under the Nazi flag. While I don't like glorifying any of their achievements I believe history should be as accurate as possible.
As for the American Ships the Pennsylvania's sister, Arizona, and Iowa Class, Missouri are probably the best known U.S. Battleships.
Although small, the Nazi's Graf Spee as well as the King George V of the U.K. also have their places in history.

I dont know so much but the ships of Sverige-class are rather small, only displease 7200 tons, on the other hand the other battleships you are talking about are displeaseing at around 30000 and
35000 tons. And the two cruisers of Tre Kronor-class displeased at 9300, so Sweden haven had any battleships in that mark, correct me if im wrong but the famous pocketbattleships wight in at about 14000 so...

I
´m sorry, but I cant answer your question...I only know that Sweden has very small ships today...but this battleship (from about 1915) was larger. Ulf

True, we have small ships today, biggest combat vessel are at 4500 tons.
but the biggest vessel thats build for pure sea warfare are at 700 tons (Visby class) and our biggest subs in active service are the gotland class at 1500 tons and the new subs (A26) thats comeing in are at 2000 tons so....

Graf Spee is arguably not an actual battleship but
rather an up-gunned heavy cruiser. Then again, Hood wasn't actually a full battleship either.

Occasionally you see the Sverige-class described as "coastal battleships", and Jane's listed them as battleships when they were active. But at 7500 tonnes and four 11
inch guns, they cannot compare to a real battleship under normal circumstances. They were designed for operations in the shallow waters of the Baltic Sea. There they would be able to operate freely while a true battleship would be very restricted. The Swedish term was Panserskepp - Armoured Shi
